Routings list the path a part follows through production and sequentially list the work centers and operations needed to make the part. You can create standard routings for your standard parts, or create routings for non-standard parts if they are associated with quotations, sales orders or job orders. Also, you can create routing templates that make it fast and easy to create multiple similar routings.
When your routings are up-to-date, you can accurately calculate labor and overhead costs and build solid production schedules using Made2Manage scheduling applications. In fact, you can specify an alternate resource in your M2M ERP system for any operation on a routing and the M2M Advanced Planning engine will then consider the secondary work center to produce parts if your original/primary work center is overloaded.
You can associate positive or negative timings with routing steps to delay or overlap operations. You also can create routings for subcontracting services - when you do, the system automatically queues purchasing to create a purchase order and allows creation of a shipper for the item.
Each routing displays costs for labor, overhead, subcontract and other expenses for a quick, concise look at the total production cost. The routing record also tracks the number of times a part has been run and the average and maximum number of units produced.
Made2Manage makes it simple to maintain your routings. When you remove or replace a work center or operation throughout your plant, the routing creator can automatically change or delete that part in all of your standard routings.
