Bill of Material

Streamline Order Fulfillment With Accurate Bills Of Material

Made2Manage simplifies the process of updating and creating your bills of material (BOMs). Since BOMs are used to generate quotations and sales orders, up-to-date information on the components and subcontractors used to produce your product are essential. Made2Manage gives you two painless ways to manage your BOMs.

Made2Manage offers a standard BOM creator that supports single- and multiple-level BOMs in one window. Standard BOMs can be created for your salespeople to attach to quotes and sales orders. In addition, your sales staff can change an attached standard BOM without changing the master. If you need to add non-standard buy or make items not currently in the item master, you can create a custom BOM.

When you remove or replace a particular part throughout your operation, the standard BOM creator can automatically change or delete that part in all of your standard BOMs. Furthermore, you can modify your BOM quantities with the operational quantities extended feature to account for scrap; M2M ERP will automatically adjust unit quantities on the BOM so you can make more accurate purchasing decisions and determine appropriate pick list quantities for your job orders.

The customizable Bill of Material Builder lets you create BOMs by dragging and dropping standard parts from a list. You have the flexibility to add, change and remove a part at any level in the standard BOM. Using the drill-down capability, you can quickly view a BOMs’ lowest level of information.

You also have the option to number items in your BOMs for easy reference. Creating costed BOMs is easy. The costed BOMs feature displays all costs associated with producing an item, including labor, overhead and subcontracting services from the standard routing.

What’s more, you can have access to an easy-to-use interface for adding and editing BOM reference designators by item number, operation or reference. With reference designators, you can quickly and easily reference individual components and determine where the materials are used in the manufacturing process. The reference designator feature makes your BOMs more manageable by consolidating information at the component/operation level. In addition, your engineering and production departments will have a clearer picture of the required product configuration. Now you can more easily manage the relationship between your parts, the associated manufacturers and their part numbers, as well as the vendors that can source those part numbers.
