The Made2Manage Electronic Data Interchange Infrastructure (M2M EDII) was built to help small manufacturers meet the B2B document exchange demands of their larger customers and suppliers. M2M EDII enables you to take customer transactions, such as requests for quotations and purchase orders, from your VAN or EDI host’s network and create new Made2Manage documents, such as quotations and sales orders. You also can use M2M EDII to export existing Made2Manage documents, such as purchase order acknowledgments and accounts receivable invoices, to outbound transactions.

During the traditional EDI process, third-party Value-Added Networks (VANs) act as intermediaries to translate, store and send documents between your Made2Manage system and the systems of your trading partners. The VAN places your documents in a commonly understood format, or EDI wrapper, and then retrieves the files from your designated mailbox and redirects them into the mailbox of your business partner, where it is unwrapped in a format that can be easily read and manipulated in a different system. With M2M EDII, you can automatically import and export these files which would otherwise have to be re-entered manually.

M2M EDII logs the success and failure rates of document transactions, as well as the times specific transactions take place. M2M EDII also is customizable so that unique processing options can be established for each of your trading partners.
